January 2025: Final Changes & Adjustments To Close The Wood Dragon Year 

And just like that, we’ve come to the end of the Wood Dragon Year…

The January Fire Ox (Ding Chou) month (from January 5 to February 3) closes out the Wood Dragon Year with opportunities for final adjustments and realignment that will create energetic space to fully welcome the 2025 Wood Snake Year.

The crucial changes triggered by the Fire Ox (in relation to the exiting Wood Dragon) are initially activated by the preceding New Moon and strong astrological alignment at the end of December. This energy allows for the softening of personal egoic (and selfish) desires in the context of the long-term vision of the group, community or family that one belongs with.

For January, the push for change & adjustment is due to the “Destruction” relationship between the exiting annual Dragon (Chen) and monthly Ox (Chou). This opportunity for change allows the release of whatsoever that will no longer serve us, being the culmination of deep transformation afforded by the potent Wood Dragon - whose energy signature is that of powerful healing, necessitating release & letting go of certain negative or stagnating areas of life.

It is with this release that will enable new starts & fresh beginnings powered by an updated, “reconceptualised” mindset; timely for the full advent of the 2025 Wood Snake Year from February 3 onwards. The Wood Snake is projected to be a bumpy year but its energies are also suited for making adjustments to medium and long-term initiatives, plans & projects.   

As an anchor, January’s energies blessedly allow a deeply-rooted connection to the meaningful  aspects of what makes us human - relationships with others (based on how we truly feel about our own self), greater life meaning/purpose as well as our spiritual existence as a whole.

Assisting with the overall energy of personal “revamping” is the deep healing of the masculine principle (planet Mars), taking place this past couple of months (and into the next upcoming couple of months). It is still not yet time to push for results nor undertake any aggressive expansion work at the moment; contrary to the normalcy at the start of the Western calendar year.

However, as the element of passion and motivation - Ding Fire (Yin Fire) appearing with the Ox (Chou) - is vulnerable; there is a strong likelihood of a wavering strength of determination that can affect the tenacity of commitment and follow-through of any release, change or shift undertaken. Perseverance and willpower are key to successfully implementing the final changes this month in order to fully capitalise on the transformative power of the exiting mighty Wood Dragon.

The January Fire Ox month is “crunch-time” to get serious and importantly, enforce key changes and  adjustments that will cement our commitment to what we are shaping and growing responsibly for the long-term. It is by boldly undertaking these changes that will not only solidify our personal commitment, ownership and responsibilities (as commitment itself will focus manifestation energy), but will enable us to ideally capitalise on the Wood Snake Year energy & opportunities.
